Does the Government Help or Hurt Innovation?

This Week's Featured Topic: Government Green

What's the best role for government to spur innovation in the energy and sustainability space? In the past few weeks, the government has approved the first nuclear power plant to be constructed in the U.S. since the 70s, rejected, for now, a controversial pipeline project and thrown its support behind a wide array of efforts to boost energy supply in the US. So, if you're keeping score, that's a start, a stop, and a "keep going!"

This week Planet Forward focused on the relationship between the government and the public when it comes to efforts in sustainability and the progression of tomorrow's technology. Our members at Planet Forward all have their own ideas on the topic. Some say it should get out of the way, others say it take a lead role, still others say it should act mainly as a catalyst for the private sector. What do you think? Tell us!

Which is more effective: business innovations, government alone, or a collaboration?
