In central Copenhagen, a major thoroughfare named Strøget (pronounced ‘Stroll’) was converted to a pedestrian plaza in 1962, creating one of the world’s longest solely pedestrian shopping streets. Is Strøget a scalable phenomenon? Planet Forward Correspondent Nathaniel Wiener investigates.
