Many hotels across the world require a room key to be placed in a slot by the door in order to power the room. If GW could implement a similar system but with a student ID card, this could save an enormous amount of electricity that would otherwise be wasted powering rooms in which lights and other electronics have been left on when the inhabitants are not there.
