In this podcast, I discuss how fungi can be used as a tool in mitigating the effects of climate change. I focus primarily on carbon sequestration, or the process of capturing and storing atmospheric carbon dioxide, as well as improvements to soil quality.
My guest speakers include Alexander Weir, Ph.D., a mycology professor at SUNY ESF and Russell Briggs, Ph.D., a soil professor at SUNY ESF. With their help, I will take you on an investigative journey, as we reveal how valuable fungi are to humankind, and discuss the various hurdles we face to truly unlocking the full potential of fungi.
